Turning every pack into a playlist

Developed in collaboration with agency partners, M&M'S Messages was built as a shopper-back, integrated campaign that paired 28 unique on-pack messages with a curated Spotify playlist. Each pack featured a humorous, on-brand expression from the iconic M&M'S spokescandies, accompanied by a scannable code that unlocked a Spotify playlist designed to match the pack's theme and mood, bringing the brand's personality to life through music in a highly shareable way that felt both playful and personal.

A core part of the creative vision was bridging the physical and digital by transforming the candy package itself into a digital touchpoint that deepened the customer experience and reinforced positive brand sentiment. Our team worked to ensure that a simple retail moment became something worth sharing.

The campaign showed how a legacy CPG brand can use packaging as a seamless digital touchpoint to deepen consumer engagement and expand the consumer experience beyond purchase. By tapping into music — a universally emotional and shareable medium — M&M'S transformed a simple candy purchase into a personalized, multi-sensory brand moment, demonstrating the potential of phygital marketing to drive both connection and loyalty.
